The 3400 RTC-60 provides simple, economical entry into automated punch/plasma fabricating, without sacrificing W.A. Whitney quality. This model features the patented Rail Tool Changer with nine tool stations capable of holding up to 127 mm (5.00") diameter punches. The cartridge-style tooling mechanism offers two benefits - easy off-line set-up and quick cartridge placement in the machine. Powerful workclamps provide 11 kN (2500 lbs.) of clamping force to hold material securely. Multiple locations are provided. Operators can remove plasma cut parts easily with the large 600 mm (24.0") wide drop door that spans the width of the machine. The CNC control features a robust 32 bit processor with digital AC drives for dependable performance. |
3700 ATC 42 Punch/Plasma Fabricating Center

|
Combining the maximum number of automatic fabricating and forming operations, the 3700 ATC completely processes large, heavy parts. Fast setup and a 42-station automatic tool changing system make this model ideal for just-in-time production and efficient, economical small lot runs. The optional rotary ram of the 3700 ATC provides fully automatic indexing of all tooling. Because all tools are rotatable, the need for secondary finishing operations and setup times is reduced. The unit features hydraulic workclamps and an automatic verification cycle that eliminates costly re-start and/or scrap. A user-friendly pendant control offers operator convenience and reduces floor space requirements. The windowing capability allows the operator to monitor functions during machine operation. Automatic small parts removal can be added next to the plasma torch. The optional conveyor transports the parts to the side of the machine. Remove plasma slag and cutting slugs automatically - no need to stop production - with the optional slug and slag conveyors. A self-contained tapping unit can also be added to the 3700 ATC to tap previously punched holes without a secondary operation. |
661 Series Closed Frame Fabricating Center

|
W.A.Whitney's largest capacity, closed frame, punch/plasma combination machines easily accommodate blank sizes up to 3 m by 6 m (120" by 240"). The 661 Series features hydraulic workclamps to handle all material thicknesses. The clamps have retractable workpiece locators to compensate for camber in workpieces during repositioning. Slug and slag conveyors remove punching slugs and plasma slag from the 661 Series without topping the machine for waste removal. An automated tool-changing system with rotary magazine for 15 sets of tools is standard on the 661 model. The 661 ATC holds 45 tools with a nine-second tool change rate and systematic tool management. A versatile material handling system makes the 661 Series stand out. The operator-friendly pendant control provides positioning convenience while reducing floor space. Automatic small parts removal is easily added to this series with a CNC controlled drop door where parts drop onto a conveyor for delivery to the operator station; semi-automatic and fully automatic large part handling is also available. An optional self-contained tapping attachment performs operations by CNC command, eliminating secondary operations. A combined drill/tap unit is available to drill and tap holes without moving parts to a secondary operation. |
