TRUMPF CNC-Sheet Metal Machining Centre

TRUMATIC 600 LASERPRESS

Complete Processing
through Laser Cutting,
Punching, Forming

It was a pioneer achievement:

TRUMPF presented a sheet metal processing machine in 1979 which not only mastered punching and forming, but was able to process parts with a laser beam. Since that time, the "Combi-Technology" has been consistently and systematically developed.

However, significant progress could only be achieved when improvements to punching and laser technologies had been made. Over the years, TRUMPF have acquired experience from these individual areas, and now combines them to perfect the interplay of punch and laser processing on a continuous basis.

The TRUMATIC 600 LASERPRESS is the result of this process. With this system, TRUMPF is entering the 5th generation of machines for complete sheet metal processing.

The concept of the TRUMATIC 600 LASERPRESS is based on the strategy of optimization without compromises. Proven standard components, e.g., extremely strong C-frame, easily accessible linear magazine, punch and laser head, are coupled with futuristic ideas such as ware-resistant digital drives, innovative control technology and operating procedures based on user's needs.

With this unique machine ("One Machine for All"), TRUMPF has once again raised the standard to an unprecedented height. Here is a machine which makes combined processing of complex parts possible; meets strickest safety requirement; is easy to operate; works economically even with small quantities; and with, of course, high quality and reliability which are expected from TRUMPF.

The Way Forward:

Two Heads are Better than One

The Parts Spectrum:

Wide Ranging Process Abilities

The multi-functionality of the TRUMATIC 600 LASERPRESS offers previously unknown possibilities regarding productivity and flexibility :

  • Complete Processing                                               The work piece is completely processed in one loading (clamping). This means that parts can be produced with minimum set-up and handling.

  • Maximum Coverage                                                   The two processing heads are positioned to give maximum combined process coverage to the work material.

  • Proven Technology                                                  With the TRUMATIC 6200 LASERPRESS, you have the same machine possibilities at your disposal that are offered by the reliable TRUMPF punch and laser machines.

  • Removal of Parts                                                       An ingenious system of programmable chutes provides quick and reliable removal of parts. Individual parts can be removed on the punch, as well as on the laser-station.

  • Accessibility                                                            The C-frame is designed and constructed to make the working area easily accessible from three sides.

  • Automation                                                              The machine can be equipped with a TRUMALIFT SheetMaster® for automatic loading and unloading.

The TRUMATIC 600 LASERPRESS is a machining centre which brings together a variety of technologies, and uses them to the required degree to produce complete sheetmetal parts precisely and economically.
  • Punching of standard contours (e.g., round or rectangular holes) with one stroke
  • Laser-cutting of intricate inside and outside contours with smooth, burr-free cut edge
  • Tapping
  • Forming (e.g., louvers, extrusions, beads)
  • Paint-proof marking with embossing and marking tools

Punching and Forming:
A Head Full of Intelligence

For more than a decade TRUMPF TLF lasers have delivered high beam quality, consistent cut quality and proven reliability in an industrial environment. The integration of the TLF laser into the machine frame makes TRUMATIC 600 LASERPRESS a compact and space-efficient facility.

  • Process Control                                                 Parameter setting such as cutting speed, laser power or assist gas pressure are automatically activated by the NC-program through technology tables.

  • Laser Head                                                               The "Digital Intelligent Height System" (DIAS) keeps the distance between the cutting nozzle and the work piece constant. This height control system ensures that the laser beam is focused and cuts precisely, even on pre-formed work pieces. Laser heads can be exchanged in seconds for economic coverage of the widest range of work.

  •  Extraction                                                                 An efficient extraction system removes dust and fumes from cutting area.

TRUMPF's decades of punching experience is embodied in the punch head design with its electro-hydraulic ram drive. Both the length of stroke and punch force are variable and automatically controlled and optimized depending on tool and material. This results in reliable, highspeed, power-efficient machining.
  • All tools can be rotated by 360o without restriction. This minimizes the number of tools required as well as the frequency of tool change.
  • The ram position can be adjusted through the NC-program for specific machining, for quicker or quieter punching or forming.
  • The entire range of TRUMPF punching tools may be used; for example, Multitool®, Whispertool®, forming and tapping tools
  • Tool change from tool magazine to head takes place within seconds, as does the tool exchange to and from magazine at set-up time through the use of pre-set tool cartridges.

Operating:
A User-friendly Control

The new TRUMPF CNC-control is based on the revolutionary open control generation. Its simple operation is totally user-oriented:

  • The operating structure is designed for easy, every-day use. A few inputs and operating can commence. An integrated online-help answers any questions very quickly.

  • The new diagnosis concept, supported by the screen, presents control errors in the function sequence. Measures to eliminated control errors are displayed in the clear text.

  • The graphic control surface corresponds to Windows-Standard. The flat display draws a sharp, high-contrast colour picture.

  • Integrated technology and tool tables are the basis for machining.

  • The operating panel is ergonomically designed. Work and storage areas provide for a neat and orderly workplace.

  • Teleservice provides faster and more reliable support.

Programming:
Easy, Automatic

For fast, easy and automatic programming, TRUMPF offers you the ToPs 300 programming software. The TRUMATIC 600 LASERPRESS and ToPs 300 are precisely coordinated with each other to provide flexible manufacturing and high productivity.

There are three steps leading to the NC-program:

  • Generation or download drawings.

  • Lay out of sheet.

  • Definition of machining process.

The integrated nesting processor calculates the optimum nest and material requirement. Subsequently, ToPs 300 defines automatically the quickest possible machining of the sheet.

  • Automatically generates the NC-program.

The data bank is the core of ToPs 300 software. It contains the technological know-how of TRUMPF. For example, the rules for automatic definition of machining are stored here.
